A stainless steel pepper and spice mill, the Copenhagen mill is the top-of-the-range model from Crushgrind®, famous for its unique ceramic grinding system.
Part industrial, part Nordic, this pepper mill designed by Jakob Herold is a model of robustness and ergonomics. Cooler and more masculine than the models in the Stockholm or Kyoto ranges, it will nonetheless delight fans of hand-cranked mills.
Made of stainless steel, the Crushgrind® mill is astonishingly simple to use. Whether you want to grind pepper, spices, berries, seeds or even coffee, the Crushgrind® system makes it possible. This unique mechanism enables the mill, like a mortar, to crush and grind in the same action.
An all-ceramic mechanism that never rusts is an innovation that comes with a 25-year warranty (on interior parts and mechanism).
The advantage of this mill is that you can obtain the same grinds that we offer on our site for most of our spices, fine, medium/fine, coarse, etc.
Finely ground if you want a nice even finish with a fine Malabar pepper on red meat, or a white Muntok pepper to enhance a lemony cream.
Ground/coarsely crushed, mignonette-style, for steak au poivre fans, or for those who prefer a full-bodied pepper to bring out all its flavors in the mouth; but also with a pink Bahia berry on a citrus marmalade or herbes de Provence.
Medium/fine for chives or basil in winter.
Filling: from the vendtre by pulling the small central trapdoor.
Fineness of grind: turn the grey screw under the grinder clockwise for a fine grind, anticlockwise for a coarse grind.
Cleaning: grind a little coarse salt, for deeper cleaning remove the ceramic from under the mill and use a brush. Wash outside with soapy water, without immersion or dishwasher, rinse and dry with a clean, dry cloth. Once a month, clean with white vinegar.
