Organic dried tomatoes are tasty because they're slow-dried in the sun. You can use them in chunks in your salads or re-hydrated, and add them to your marinades, soups or sauces. Don't hesitate to use them in your salad dressings - they're a real treat!
The origins of the tomato go back to Central America, to the time of the Aztecs and Incas. The latter were the first to cultivate "tomalt" on the Andean plateaus, 2,000 years BC. It was discovered by the Spanish during their conquests and arrived in Europe in the 16th century. At first, its smell and resemblance to poisonous plants did not inspire confidence. But it was soon adopted by the Spaniards, and above all the Italians, who carried out a major fruit selection operation.
The French called the fruit "pomme d'amour", until the middle of the 18th century...
Our Dried Tomato comes as a half-fruit; delicately sun-dried, it contains no added fat or salt. Its unique flavor, color and intense taste will enhance all your preparations.
