The Gakenke washing station, built in the 90s, today groups together just over 2,000 owner-coffee growers cultivating a few hundred coffee trees on plots located at an altitude of 1,700m.
Of volcanic origin, the soil on these plots ensures that each coffee cherry ripens slowly, right up to manual harvesting.
