Cloves, long the monopoly of Portuguese and Dutch companies, grow mainly by the sea. Introduced to Madagascar and Zanzibar in the 18th century, these two places are now major producers. Often used in Europe in onion stews, cloves are also a wonderful spice in chai tea and meat and vegetable broths. Our cloves have beautiful heads, the sign of a perfect clove with an intense flowery fragrance.

Le clou de girofle est l’une des épices les plus connues (avec le poivre) dont l’odeur particulière vous rappellera probablement le dentiste. Antiseptique puissant le clou de girofle s’utilise généralement entier mais moulu, il peut entrer dans la composition de certains mélanges. Piqué dans un oignon et placé dans le pot-au-feu sa faveur est irremplaçable.
