Traditional organic gomasio (Gomashio Bio) made exclusively with toasted blond whole sesame seeds from Uganda and fleur de sel. Toasted and crushed by hand for better incorporation of the salt into the sesame. Gomasio is one of the great alternatives to salt. Ten times less salt for ten times more pleasure.

And as always, our spices are toasted and ground to order for added freshness and flavor, one of the hallmarks of Place des Epices.

Gomasio (or traditionally Gomashio) has been used for thousands of years in Japan to season dishes.

A wonderful alternative to salt (because it contains only 10% or less), organic gomasio can be used every day to season dishes, soups and salads.

Originally from Japan, its name comes from Goma (sesame seed) and Shio(salt), and it has been used for thousands of years in Japanese cuisine. The proportion of salt can vary from 5 to 15% of the total weight. 10% is a good compromise, but at Place des épices you can choose the amount of salt you want in your blend (5 or 10%).
