What is organic dried mango?

The mango is a tropical fruit from the mango tree, native to Southeast Asia, where it grows wild. A member of the Anacardiaceae family, it is thought to have been domesticated as far back as 4000 BC, in India, where it was considered by the Hindus to be the "King of Fruits".

The mango was introduced to Africa in the 16th century, then to Central and South America. Finally, it was imported to Europe in the 18th century by the English (Indian colonies). This fruit is a fleshy drupe in a wide variety of shapes, sometimes rounded but more often oval, with yellow-orange flesh attached to a large, flattened stone and juicy, highly-perfumed pulp.

Properties of organic dried mango :

Dried mango should be eaten in moderate quantities, due to its high energy content. It can be eaten occasionally or on a daily basis. In this case, do not exceed 30 to 40g per day.
Recommended for...
- for everyone (children, teenagers, students, pregnant or breastfeeding women, athletes, mobile or sedentary workers, the elderly...): thanks to its high content of polyphenols (or phenolic compounds), mango has a preventive action against free radicals and certain diseases(1). Rich in soluble fiber, mango also helps prevent cardiovascular disease(2).
- people with fragile digestive systems: highly digestible, mango's fiber content is well tolerated by all categories of people.
- smokers: as their needs are significantly increased, mango is an excellent source of provitamin A.

Consumption of dried mango :

Mango can be eaten as is (as a snack or aperitif), or rehydrated (diced, crushed or blended). In winter, make fruit in syrup, or add small pieces of mango to mixed salads.
For desserts, there's nothing like diced mango in rice cooked in coconut milk or tapioca.
Rehydrated, fry in a little fat to accompany white meats (turkey, chicken, veal, pork) or omelettes: a delight for lovers of sweet and sour. You'll quickly fall in love with it as an accompaniment to meat or fish dishes.
As a garnish, it will enhance your cakes, tarts, fresh fruit mousses, entremets, etc.

Store dried mango slices in a cool, dry place, away from air and light.
