Organic ground nutmeg from the Moluccas archipelago in Indonesia. Often used in quality spice blends, its fragrance is incomparable. Try it in a good terrine, the fat coats this spice perfectly. A perennial evergreen living in hot, humid tropical climates, from 0 to 500 m tall, the nutmeg tree measures 8 to 12 meters.
And as always, our spices are ground to order for freshness and flavor, one of the hallmarks of Place des Epices.
Nutmeg is native to Indonesia's Moluccan archipelago, most likely the island of Céram (or Seram). It is harvested by hand and then sun-dried for several weeks.
