A hardy, herbaceous annual with a strongly branched stem, up to 60cm high. Seeds are obtained after drying. Organic ground coriander from Egypt, lightly lemony and terribly fresh. The dried seeds are perfect for flavoring ras-el-Hanout or Ethiopian Xawaash.
And as always, our spices are ground to order for freshness and flavor, one of the hallmarks of Place des Epices.
Originally from the Middle East or Asia Minor, it has spread widely throughout the Mediterranean basin, and is now one of the most widespread plants in Asia. The spherical seeds produce a subtle, fragrant grind used in many dishes, pastilla, couscous, soups... The Egyptians often used it: the seeds perfumed cereal cakes under Ramses; coriander seeds have been found in the tombs of the XXI dynasty in the Valley of the Kings on the west bank of Luxor.
