With its notes of citrus and ripe fruit, the Sil-Timur berry from Nepal is the perfect accompaniment to seafood, fish and shellfish, but also goes very well with all white meats and even pastries.
Clean lemon and lemongrass fragrance, with great freshness and intense fruitiness. On the palate, there's no numbing effect, nor any real spiciness, but a marked taste of citrus zest: lemon, mandarin, candied citron, with spicy, camphoraceous notes and a hint of menthol, reminiscent of eucalyptus.
Fruit of the Lindera neesiana shrub, the Sil Timur berry is found mainly in the forests of subtropical Himalayan Asia (notably Bhutan, Nepal, northern India and part of Sri Lanka), and is a false pepper in the Rutaceae family.
