Patience and perseverance were needed to create this new blend, but it's done: Ras-el-Hanout 50 spices is ready!

42 organic spices and 8 toasted in two stages, a double grind for a unique final blend of incredible depth, freshness and earthy notes.

Green cardamom, eucalyptus, mints and various aromatics counterbalance cumin, caraway and fennel. Powerful spices such as organic peppers, ginger and galangal - lightly dosed so as not to overwhelm - embrace the happiest, most voluptuous pink berries, rosebuds and lemon thyme.

Ras el Hanout is a traditional complex blend from North Africa, particularly popular in Morocco. Its name literally means "head of the grocer's store" in Arabic, referring to the fact that it is composed of the finest spices the grocer has to offer.

The exact origin of Ras el Hanout remains uncertain, but it is thought to have originated in the Moroccan souks , where spices were abundant and merchants competed to offer the best blend.

One of the spice routes (the incense route) linking India to Egypt via Yemen passed through the Sudan desert to Morocco.
For centuries, dromedaries carried the spices over thousands of kilometers to Taroudant, the gigantic crossroads of North African trade.

Traditionally, each grocer had his own secret recipe, often handed down from generation to generation.

Ras el Hanout is a refined blend of up to 50 different spices, including cumin, coriander, ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper and cloves. It is used to flavor and season a wide variety of dishes, such as tagine, couscous and grilled meats.

Today, Ras el Hanout has become popular all over the world and is often used to add a touch of exoticism and flavor to many preparations.
