New organic peppers

Finding quality, pure-origin organic peppers is no easy task. We're delighted to extend our range of organic peppers and introduce them to you.

From Africa and Asia, these new black peppers come from East Africa (Tanzania), southern Sumatra and southwest India (Malabar and Tellicherry).

Killindi pepper from Tanzania is a little-known pepper. It is hand-picked by independent farmers under strict phytosanitary conditions. The Bio agricultural cooperative is responsible for collection, and pays farmers well above the national average. Highly fragrant, fruity and piquant, organic Tanzanie pepper is an everyday pepper that can be used to season meats and salads alike.

Organic Lampong pepper comes from the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, in the south of the island surrounded by the Java Sea and the Indian Ocean. Lampong pepper is considered to be one of the world's finest peppers, and its woody, warm, rather pungent fragrance and legendary spiciness are certainly at the root of this claim. Harvested by small independent farmers in an organic cooperative, our Lampong pepper is undoubtedly a wonderful discovery.

Malabar Organic Pepper MG1 (the superior quality of Malabar peppers, of which there are 6 - Malabar Garbled 1) Garbled or Ungarbled (wrinkled or not wrinkled), Malabar peppers have 6 levels of quality - size not being taken into account in these levels, but above all hue (very black or very brown), level of wrinkling of the grain (Garbled or not), and percentage of small seeds and small branches up to 4% and 20% of weight respectively. To say that our Malabar pepper comes from a small farm would be a lie, as MG1 and Tellicherry are the two most widely produced peppers in India. Of course, they come from small farms, but organic cooperatives are really important, bringing together thousands of small and medium-sized farmers.

Organic Tellicherry Pepper TGSEB (Tellicherry Garbled Special Extra Bold) the top of the Tellicherry range, with a grain size close to 5mm wide, certainly one of the largest on the market. Three grades make up Tellicherry (Bold, Extra Bold, Special Extra Bold ranging from 4 to 5mm). Warm, spicy, fruity and highly aromatic, this delicate pepper is a faithful table companion.

These last two are the two great peppers of the Kerala region in India, not forgetting Wayanad of course. We hope you enjoy your discovery.
