Why choose to sell organic, responsible spices?

The choice to sell organic and responsible spices is not a whim, nor even a temporary fad, but a desire to be in line with our daily eating habits. We eat organic and/or responsibly grown fruit and vegetables, and tend to do the same with dried products.

Today, to consume non-organic spices is to sign a pact with one of the world's two biggest agri-food companies, which bleed the planet's farmers dry to generously (!) give them less than a dollar for a kilo of turmeric (not harvested, but dried!). A spice market worth over $17 billion (forecast for 2019) inevitably gives the biggest companies a taste for immorality.

The same turmeric you've been hearing so much about: your mailbox is flooded with messages extolling its anti-inflammatory and Alzheimer's properties. So, a dollar for a kilo of product to treat diseases that are often incurable? Let's be serious and open our eyes to these mercantile approaches, which are stupefying the world's agriculture with their idiocy and disrespect.

Our approach is therefore to work only with responsible companies, able to look at themselves in the mirror in the morning and say, we're doing a job we like and we're doing it well, we respect the earth and the people who live off it. Believing in the combination of organic and fair trade practices as a tool to establish sustainability in all agricultural practices; working with scrupulously respected organic standards guaranteeing that our environment remains fertile so that our children and grandchildren can also benefit from it; leaning on fair trade standards guaranteeing that farmers will always be paid a fair price to preserve agriculture as an act of life.
